Introduction

Rudshur Power Plant is the first private power plant in Iran which was built in line with Article 44 of the Constitution and government development plans supported by the Ministry of Energy based on experience of Iranian experts. The first phase of the plant was operated commercially in year 2007 with a nominal capacity of 792 MW. The main fuel of the power plant is gas and the back-up fuel is fuel oil (Gasoline).
The turbines are F class and have a revolution of 3000 rpm (50 Hz) made by Siemens Company. In addition, the turbines are 4 stage with single crystal blades and ceramic coating on the first 3 rows. Furthermore, the outlet temperature of flues from stack is 560 degrees Celsius. The combustion chamber is Annular type and has 24 low NoX hybrid burners. The generator is air-cooled and three-phase AC with a capacity of 310 megawatts, with a power factor of 0.85 and an output voltage of 15.75 kV. The power control system of the power plant is DCS-Teleperm XP.
The substation is of the 1.5-key type with a voltage level of 400 kV and is connected to two substations of Rudshur and Firouz Bahram.
Controlling of the 400 kV substation is carried out by TELEGYR system through separate monitoring systems at the central control room. During extension phase, TELEGYR will be upgraded to DCS substation system.

Rudshur Power Plant is a green industry brand holder. The plant succeeded in obtaining “Green Industry “emblem from Iran Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the years 2009, 2016 and 2017 confirmed by UNIDO and GIZ. Besides, the results of measurement of exhaust gases from the stacks of this power plant are much lower than the permissible and acceptable limits of the country’s environmental organization.

Despite severe water constraints in Zarandieh region, in line with environmental policies of Iran, the construction of green space has been put on the agenda and so far about 14 hectares of green space has been implemented using a drip irrigation system under pressure and more than 20,000 trees have been planted from various species resistant to hot and extreme conditions.
On the other hand, in order to prevent “Desertification” process, it has voluntarily started 100 hectares of forestation in the lands around the power plant which the first phase has been accomplished.
