Rudshur power plant was recognized as green industry in Iran. At a ceremony held in the Environment Organization of Iran, an appreciation plaque and the silver statuette of Green Industry was donated to the power plant.

In this ceremony, a plaque was awarded to Rudshur power plant on behalf of UNIDO and Giz Institute to Rudshur Power Plant.
It is worth mentioning that this certificate is selected by the environmental departments to the industrial units that comply with the environmental regulations. If the related conditions are approved by the provincial administration, the company/unit will be introduced to the Environmental Protection Agency of the country.
The green industry is one of the encouraging tools of the environment organization that annually introduces qualified candidates and the applicants must meet the following requirements:
– Have effective measures to reduce pollution (various categories of water, air, waste disposal) and reduce resource consumption (water, electricity and fuel, etc.).
– The unit should not be a polluting industry.
– Effective measures on culture and education have been taken.
– Determine the status of the environmental management system of the industrial unit.
– The unit’s performance regarding the creation and maintenance of green space should be clear.
Saeed Motesadi, the deputy of the EPA, had previously said that green industrial units are selected on the basis of scientific and statistical principles, and the main indicators for selecting industrial green units are sewage management, water management, waste, pollution, biomass indicators, etc.
