Solar systems for Female-Headed Households were Officially Inaugurated

With the successful collaboration of several institutions and organizations, 520 solar power plants of female-headed households in Kerman province were operated.
The CEO of MahTaab Sazan Iranian Charity Foundation, which has been the project manager, said: with the active participation of Imam Khomeini’s relief committee and the MahTaab Sazan Iranian Charity Foundation, the first phase of the project to build 520 solar power plants in 9 cities and 125 villages in Kerman province, with a total cost of over 2.2 million US Dollars started in late autumn and was operated in March of this year.
Farangis Eftekhari added: Imam Khomeini Relief Committee of Kerman Province, with the participation of Mellat and Mehr-e Iran Banks, undertook the main task of financing the project and the MahTaab Sazan Iranian Charity Foundation in cooperation with MahTaab Group, leverages his experience in business negotiation, contracting, project management, and power plant utilization to optimize project execution to illustrate a pattern of successful multi-agency teamwork for deploying a community project.
She aims that the goals of this project are to empower and strengthen the economic and social independence of owners by generating a sustainable 20-year income, strengthening the sense of dignity and self-esteem of owners by transforming the pensioner into a producer, creating a suitable environment for the local community to get acquainted with new technologies and clean energy production.
Eftekhari mentioned: Activities carried out by the Iranian Charity Foundation for the project, included pursuing a contract for a guaranteed electricity sale of 20 years between the Ministry of Energy and power plant owners, pursuing receiving facilities from banks to nominated persons by the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee, negotiating with domestic and foreign manufacturers to purchase high quality equipment and receiving discounts for owners, project management in all stages of engineering design, contractors selection and timely connection to the power grid, training for proper operation and maintenance of solar power plants and infrastructure and centralized online network for technical support.
It is worth noting that the average annual output of each power plant is approximately 8500 kWh and the repayment period is up to 66 months from the electricity sales revenue.
