First Steam Turbine of Urmia Power Plant Operated

The first steam unit of the Urmia power plant with a capacity of 160 megawatts and a credit amounting to 128 million euros, with the investment of Tadbir Sazan Sarmad Company, was synchronized in September and was inaugurated today in the presence of the Minister of Energy and some provincial officials.

With the entry of this unit into the production cycle, the capacity of Urmia power plant has increased from 954 MW to 1114 MW. This project has increased electricity production and efficiency, reduced fuel consumption for electricity production, and also reduced pollutants based on fuel consumption and electricity production.
