Rudshur Power Plant is the first private power plant in Iran which was built in line with Article 44 of the Constitution and government development plans supported by the Ministry of Energy and experience of Iranian experts.
The nominal capacity of the first phase is 792 MW. The main fuel of the plant is natural gas and fuel oil (gasoline).
The turbine revolution per minute is 3000 rpm. The combustion chamber is the Annular type and has 24 low Nox hybrid burners, the turbine is 4-stage with single crystal blades and a ceramic coating on the first 3 rings, meanwhile the outlet temperature of flues from stack is 560 degrees Celsius. The generator is air-cooled and three-phase AC with a capacity of 310 megawatts, with a power factor of 0.85 and an output voltage of 15.75 kV.
The power control system is DCS-Teleperm XP.
The substation is of the 1.5-key type and with a voltage level of 400 KV and is connected to two substations of Rudshur and Firouz Bahram.
Controlling of the 400 KV substation is carried out by TELEGYR system and through separate monitoring systems at the central control room.
Rudshur Power Plant is a green industry brand. The plant succeeded in obtaining “Green Industry” emblem from Iran Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the years 2009 and 2016, also gained UNIDO and GIZ certificates. The results of measuring the concentration of exhaust gases from the flue from this plant are much lower than the permissible and acceptable limits of the country’s environmental organization.
In order to compensate for the pollutants from of stacks, despite the lack of and severe water constraints on this plant, the construction of green spaces has been put on the agenda, and so far about 14 hectares of green space has been implemented using a drip irrigation system under pressure and more than 20,000 trees have been planted from various species resistant to hot, dehydration, and extreme conditions.
Moreover, in order to prevent “Desertification” process, it has voluntarily started to plant 100 hectares of forestation in the lands around the power plant.
