Participation of Caspian Power Plant Employees in the Cleanup of Hessel Wetland

On the occasion of World Environment Day, a group of employees from the Caspian Power Plant participated in a voluntary program aimed at fulfilling their social responsibility by contributing to the cleanup of the natural area of Hessel Wetland.

World Environment Day, observed annually on June 5 (15 Khordad) and initiated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), serves as an opportunity to raise public awareness about environmental challenges and emphasize the role of communities and organizations in protecting natural resources. In this context, Caspian Power Plant employees took practical action to preserve one of the country’s valuable northern ecosystems.

Hessel Wetland, located within the Hyrcanian forests near Chalus County, is considered one of the unique natural attractions of Mazandaran Province. This forest wetland plays an important role in preserving regional biodiversity, recharging groundwater resources, moderating climatic conditions, and sustaining the surrounding forest ecosystem. Its seasonal color changes and unique vegetation make Hessel a popular destination for nature enthusiasts.

During the program, participants visited the area and collected waste along access paths and around the wetland. The initiative aimed to promote environmental protection culture, safeguard natural resources, and strengthen employee engagement in social responsibility activities.

The Caspian Power Plant expressed appreciation for the valuable participation of its staff and emphasized the continuation of cultural, educational, and environmental initiatives in support of sustainable development and protection of the country’s natural assets.
