Introduction

Kangan LNG is the first mid-scale LNG project being developed by the private sector in Iran. The project is planned to start operation in 2024, and will produce about 2 mmtpa LNG.
A 30-hectare site located at the Port of Tombak has been designated for the project. The site will accommodate two liquefaction trains, as well as potential future expansion, pre-processing, utilities storage and export facilities.
The Kangan LNG facilities will have excellent access to Iranian natural gas supply resources, and will be constructed next to the new South Pars gas processing plants at Tombak.
